Epiphany House Blessing  2025

There is a long-standing tradition in our Catholic Faith for the faithful to "chalk" their doors, asking God's Blessing upon the home and family.  It does not need to be done by a priest, but can be done by the head of the home.  In this case, one of our priests will bless the chalk at the end of Mass for you to use on your home.​

We invite you to adopt this custom in your family.  The family gathers to ask God's blessing on their home and on those who live in or visit it.  It is an invitation for Jesus to be a daily guest in our home, our coming and goings our conversations, our work and play, our joy and sorrows.

A traditional way to do this, is to use chalk to write above the home's entrance: 20+C+M+B+25.  The letters C, M B have two meanings.  There are the initials of the names of the three Magi: Casper, Melchior and Balthazar.  They also abbreviate the Latin words:

Christus, Mansionem and Benedicat meaning "May Christ Bless this House"

 The + signs represent the Cross and the Year 2025.​

Epifania  2025 Bendición Sobre el Hogar

Existe una larga tradición en nuestra fe católica para que los fieles "tizan" sus puertas, pidiendo la bendición de Dios sobre el hogar y la familia. No es necesario que lo haga un sacerdote, pero puede hacerlo el jefe de la casa. En este caso, uno de nuestros sacerdotes bendecirá la tiza al final de la Misa para que la use en su hogar.

Te invitamos a adoptar esta  costumbre en tu familia. La familia se reúne para pedir la bendición de Dios sobre su hogar y sobre los que vienen en él o lo visitan.  Es una invitación a Jesús a ser un huésped diario en nuestro hogar, en nuestras idas y venidas, en nuestras conversaciones, en nuestro trabajo y juego, en nuestras alegrías y tristezas.

Una forma tradicional de hacer esto es usar tiza para escribir sobre la entrada de la casa: 20+C+M+B+25. Las letras C, M, B tienen dos significados.  Son las iniciales de los nombres de los tres Reyes Magos: Gasper, Melchor, y Baltasar. También abrevian las palabras latinas: Christus Mansionem Benedicat, que significa " Que Cristo bendiga esta casa" Los signos + representan la Cruz y el año es 2025.
