Catechists and Catechist Assistants
Key Roles of Catechists:
-
Teaching the Faith: Catechists instruct both children and adults in the beliefs, practices, prayers, and moral teachings of the Catholic faith.
-
Sacramental Preparation: They often prepare people for receiving the sacraments, such as First Communion, Confirmation, Baptism (especially for converts), and Marriage.
-
Faith Formation: Beyond just transmitting knowledge, catechists aim to form people in living a Christian life, rooted in prayer, Scripture, and the teachings of the Church.

Our Catechists help fulfill Jesus’ command to "go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19–20).
