Pastoral & Finance Councils
Our Pastoral Council and the Finance Council are two important advisory bodies that assist our priests in leading and managing the parish effectively. Each has a distinct role, but both contribute to the mission of the Church at the parish level.

Pastoral Council Purpose:
Advise and collaborate in the spiritual and pastoral direction of the parish.
Responsibilities:

Discern the needs of the parish community.

Help develop and evaluate the pastoral plan for the parish.

Assist in promoting evangelization, liturgy, catechesis, outreach, and community life.

Encourage participation and unity in the life of the parish.

Reflect on how the parish can better fulfill the Church’s mission.
Composition:
-
Lay parishioners appointed or elected based on their active involvement, wisdom, and commitment to the Church.

May include leaders of various ministries or representatives of different parish groups.

Chaired by Fr Robert Charlton, who presides over meetings.

Finance Council Purpose:
Assists in the administration of the parish’s temporal goods, especially finances.
Responsibilities:

Review and approve the parish budget and monitor financial performance.

Oversee parish income and expenditures.

Advise on capital projects, fundraising, and stewardship efforts.

Ensure transparency and accountability in financial matters.

Review and help prepare annual financial reports to the diocese and parishioners.
Composition:
-
Parishioners with experience in finance, business, law, or accounting.

Appointed by Fr Robert Charlton, not elected.
-
Serves in a consultative role, not one of governance.

Currently the Councils meet at one group and attending monthly/quarterly meetings.
